Wow. Wow. I mean. Oh my god, wow. You know, even if this story hadn't been written for me, it would have been written for me, because this is everything I most love, not just about the Pete/Ryan relationship, but about your writing.
Pete's incredibly heartbreaking in this; you capture his self-destructive/self-aware continuum so perfectly.
"You deserve better," Pete mumbles against Ryan's stomach. Ryan's not the first person he's said that to. He won't be the last.
God, god. He breaks my heart.
But sometimes, during the day, he'll be IMing Ryan and Ryan will say something offhand, mention something he's done, and Pete slots himself neatly in there. He's with Ryan as Ryan grabs a burger from the cheap diner across the street from the recording studio, he walks with Ryan through the forest outside the cabin and looks up through the trees to the sky, he lays with Ryan on the grass outside the venue in Portland and together they watch the stars. Ryan tells him what the new songs sound like - like Paris, like a Broadway musical
( ... )
yes, this was soooooo good. there were so many lines i liked, it would take forever to list them. im such a whore for pete/ryan. it isnt done nearly enough. this has to be one of my favorites, though, cuz i liked how you wrote pete as being the one who really wanted to know ryan, and ryan being the one seemingly in it for just the sex. loved this.
