有一天，富裕的老翁到了郊外去。
这富翁花了一生的时间，赚了一大笔钱财，现在想好好享清福。
老富翁来到了湖边，看到渔夫在岸边晒太阳。
＂你这么在这闲着，不辛勤作工呢？＂
＂这么努力干吗？＂
＂努力打拼，才能赚很多的钱吗。＂
＂要那么多钱，又干吗？＂
＂赚了钱，你就能象我一样，到处游山玩水。到处去赏花，听海风，看好景色。＂
＂老翁啊，那都不是我现在在干的事吗？＂

A matter of perspective
I chose a drink stall in KK Market where nobody patronized. I wondered why. The poor chap was just sitting there and stoning. And when the tea came, I understood why. He didn't put sugar into the tea.
Most people would probably be quite pissed with a bland morning tea. But if we changed our perspective, things might be more easily accepted. Maybe ( Read more... ) -
A random Sunday
Long time no post. And so here on a random Sunday morning while I'm waiting to deal mortal damage to my wallet (shop's not open yet), I thought it'd be good to just check-in.
Life's good. Nobody's hurt or ill or dead. My dad's still not keeping to a stricter diet though. Oh well, it's his choice. Anyway at his age I'd imagine he'd be taking it ( Read more... ) -

Los Angeles
Ok, so LA is, in every sense of the word, not that hot after all.
It is nice and sunny, but there's always a cool breeze. So you never get that in-a-steambath feeling that you always get back home.
And with nearly tourists' trap at every corner, the city's not very exciting other than the Hollywood attractions. And those star-thingies are obviously ( Read more... ) -
Visiting San Francisco
This city is truly multi-cultural and multi-faceted. Truly eye-opening.
Day 1 - met up with Vincent, ex-student, doing an associated degree there. Nice catching up with an old friend. The boy's really grown, after having his eyes opened by the city for a year. Evening dinner was at The Blue Mermaid, by recommendation. Yuck...

Surprise in the washing machine
My parents are out of town for two weeks. Other than tge pesky plants that i need to water and "shower" with a spray or two, twice a day, there's really not much to do at home. I don't cook, and that just really saves a lot of hassle od cleaning up and stuff.

Overcompensating
Sometimes there's a thin line to trying enough and trying too hard. Many a times we think we know best, and we end up over compensating, thinking we are plugging the gaps by doing so.
Mothers love can smother, teacher's nagging become tiresome.
And I think I fell into that trap tonight.
