Hmm. When one is living somewhere, one doesn't necesarily want to have to watch the little buggers all the time. It can get frustrating, for example, not to be able to pop inside to go to the loo without taking the kids with you. On the other hand, I hope I'd be bright enough, in this situation, NOT TO RENT A HOUSE WITH A POND.
