Here's the story: Ubi was going to transfer me again. To North Carolina. I don't know anyone in North Carolina. What's even in North Carolina? It'd be different if I were going back to Québec City or Montréal, or even some place in Europe ( Read more... )

Prudence Ashford! Light of my life. How've you been? And what would I do at Columbia?

Jean-Christian. Baby. Darling. My dainty duck, oh dear. Truthfully, I've been better, but I shan't complain. How are you?

Same as me! Sleep, mostly.

Quack, quack.

For someone who's about to leave the industry he's worked in for years and years, I feel surprisingly good. Not so good about the prospect of finding a brand new career path, but it looks like complaining in here works better than cruising Craigslist.

Just so you know, I think Toby was right about the karma. Also, his story beats "try Columbia?" If that doesn't work out, I'll certainly take a look at your more ambitious and higher paying option.

How fortuitous. I need a new Assistant for the Scandinavians.

It's not exactly a position I'd recommend you rely on for a livable income, but there is a modest stipend. Plus I'm told there's something about the satisfaction of aiding your fellow Tale, etc etc.

And naturally you come to the guy who's applying for a teaching position. In all seriousness, though, if you're asking me, I'll do it. Apparently, public education isn't exactly livable, either.

Compendiums really do trump the internet.
