July's bike riding maintained the pace
set in prior months. For the first ever "bike to work" month I managed 9 rides in July. Since some coworkers biked every day I certainly didn't win that category, but I may have done ok in mileage since I was going 8.75 miles (one-way) and most of those every day people live within 2 miles of the office. (20 * 2) < (9 * 8.75) so that gives me an edge. Of course, there were people coming in from 30 miles away, so if any of them managed a mere 6 rides they win. I guess we'll find out when they announce the winners.
In other bike news, I made up one of the four days I'm missing to get back to two days/week since the week of April 6. I'm also at 560 miles on the year, which means that my cycling
hobbit has passed under the
Misty Mountains and is on his way to
Beorn's house.
In health news, the July diet went better than June did.
January - 50% - 11/22
February - 72% - 13/18
March - 90% - 19/21
April - 95% - 21/22
May - 76% - 13/17
June - 64% - 9/14
July - 86% - 19/22
I broke down and had M&Ms twice. There were several days when I bought lunch (allowable by the rules) and I did have some junk food the day I presented at our annual tech conference (not allowable). The
health screenings this year are in August so it's crunch time for blood sugar levels.
