My sister posts big lofty goals every year. I don't really do resolutions that much, but maybe I should give it a shot. Here are the ones for 2015.
1. Facebook only on weekends. As talked about in
this post.
2. BMI Waiver / Blood Sugar. As I wrote in 2014, I
have had my blood sugar be in the pre-diabetic range five years running. I also have gotten the health insurance discount by having to talk my way into a BMI Waiver, since my short stocky body doesn't match 'normal' BMI patterns. This year, I want to either get the blood sugar under 100 or get the BMI discount without a waiver. Either one means eating more healthily, because mere exercise hasn't done the job.
3. Donate platelets at least 6 times. I donated
platelets three times in 2014, but really fell off after the last one. Part of the problem was the new Red Cross site didn't like me donating whole blood and platelets even though they overlap; they seem to have fixed that so that excuse goes caput.
4. Read three Shakespeare plays this year. Back in
2009 I resolved to read my way through the complete works of William Shakespeare. I read a ton of books in 2014, but only one was Shakespeare. I only read one in 2013 as well. It turns out I actually *enjoy* reading Shakespeare, but the effort to start the next book always seems harder than just picking up some random other book. Time to get back into it.
5. In by 9:30am 80% of work days. On the one hand my job has flex time, which is awesome. On the other hand, it's sort of ridiculous to roll in at 10am just because I can, and then stay late because of it. This year I'll shoot for 9:30am four days out of every five. I'm not sure what bike season will do to this, but let's see what happens.
6. Stop chewing nails. I've chewed my nails my whole life. It's disgusting. I need to figure out how to stop. Maybe I'll paint my nails like
theferrett.
