1. I donated
platelets on Memorial Day morning. Everything went fine. This was my third attempt
of 2015, but the first successful one.
2.
khiron1416 and I enjoyed delicious Jamaican food with his family, and then went and caught
Max Max: Fury Road, in which one
Max Rockatansky is temporarily used as a source of blood for his captors. Max is apparently O-, or universal donor.
In any event, this film was not particularly a priority for me, but everybody who had seen it (and I do mean everybody) had given it good reviews. Good call. Both
khiron1416 and I really enjoyed it the spectacle. I'm almost sad that we didn't see it in 3-d.
3- When I got home and walked Tulip, she had her first fight with a cat in nearly
three years. This one didn't go as well for her as the previous encounters, as she got her snout slashed up pretty badly with multiple cuts all over her face. This cat was particularly aggravating because it was on a lead. Yes, you read that right. The cat was a very short lead, staked right next to the sidewalk, and had absolutely nowhere to retreat. I didn't see the cat because it was hiding in some tall grass. I suspect that if I hadn't pulled Tulip away the cat wouldn't have had much of an opening to fight back, but I did and the cat got in some good shots before I got Tulip far enough away. My hands were covered with blood, which is always fun.
Although Tulip seemed utterly unphased by this, there was enough blood, including some by her eyes, that we made our first (and hopefully last) visit to the emergency vet, who confirmed that her eyes were unharmed, cleaned out all the scratches and gave me some antibiotics to give her since cats have all sorts of nasty crap under their claws.
After all this excitement on Monday night, what happened on Tuesday night? Naturally, we were talking a quick spin around the block before bedtime and a cat charged at Tulip, just like happened back in
2012. This time she took a small cut to the nose that didn't merit a vet visit, particularly since we already had antibiotics. The cat took off yowling; I think Tulip got a bite in but it was dark and hard to see.
All this cat action brings Tulip's lifetime fight record with cats to 3-1. Monday night was definitely a loss, but she's won the other three. I'd be just as happy if there weren't any more.
