America is a Big Place
As mentioned last week this week I was on the road helping my friend Ryan move from Ohio to California. Our travel looked like this:
Monday - Dayton to Council Bluffs, IA
Tuesday - Council Bluffs to Rawlins, WY
Wednesday - Rawlins to Winnemucca, NV
Thursday - Winnemucca to Mountain View, CA
We had great weather and took full advantage of the 80mph speed limits prevalent in the western US. I had plenty of time to listen to music. As such, I can report that if you drive nearly 2500 miles at slightly above the speed limit, you can listen to 43 CDs. The drive down to Dayton on Sunday night knocked off the other three I brought with me.
I drew widely from my collection and got to delve into some albums I hadn’t listened to in a while. You could plausibly argue that I basically took most of four days off just to listen to music! I also listened to more than I purged last week, if not as many as the big Alaska road trip needed.
