Thus far this strange, weird, life changing year, I have:
- Read 99 books. You might think, that seems like an insane amount of books, by far the most of any of my
mid-year reports and more than most
yearly totals. And you would be right. Of those 99:
- 5 were normal adult books
- 1 was a graphic novel
- 1 was a poetry collection
- 92 were childrens books of varying complexity that I read to my daughter.
And if that seems like a cheat to you, you can make your own list and count it however you like. I will note that for the first time ever I will count re-reads, but only if I read them to my daughter. I did this because I've certainly read
Bill Peet and
Dr. Seuss before I started tracking my lists, but it's a lot more fun reading them to Birdie.
- I've been to zero concerts, which is obviously an all-time low. I feel this is all pandemic; even with a baby I might have made it to one or two in six months.
- Seen 5 movies, all streaming. That is an all time low for total movies, but it is the most streaming movies I've seen at mid-year. Granted, before my last year I had never watched a streaming movie, so this isn't hard. Like concerts, I'm sure the number would have been low single digits with a baby, but the pandemic drove it down to zero.
- In a category new this year, I've finished 17 television seasons from ten different shows. See, there's something you can do with a baby!
- Ridden my bike zero times, which is easily the lowest number since I began biking. See also baby, and not having to go to work.
- Made 63 LJ posts, including this one. That's actually not even close to my lowest total, despite
having a gigantic gap where I wasn't posting after Birdie arrived. I'll take it.
