My parents were here two weekends ago to watch Birdie while M and I went to see Sir Elton John on July 30. As with several
past visits, my mother taught my daughter how to do something new. Upon observing that Birdie was trying to take empty plastic bottles out of the recycling (namely, a lemon juice bottle and a prune juice bottle), my mother made sure the bottles were rinsed out and then taught Birdie to unscrew the lids and screw them back on.
This sounds pretty cool, but earlier this week my daughter applied this knowledge to unscrew the lid of her bottle while she was in the pack'n'play and poured some milk out, so no good deed goes unpunished.
In other kid news, today (8/10), my daughter got her
second Pfizer shot. 8 weeks to shot number 3, 2 more weeks to full strength, and then we have a lot more options for visiting people that don't require staying outside the entire time.
