This is soooo the season 4 fic I want to read, and I'm so glad you're writing it. Your Leslie is ending up making so much sense to me, and Ben ... I just can't get over his little rebellions and the way he starts to go easier on himself. That seems so important for him, not just for his breakup with Leslie, but in general. Thanks for writing this.

This! This is exactly what I wanted to read. Thank you. And you're the only writer where I don't even mind several works in progress, because it's of such high quality.

That being said, I love Ben's voice in this. Even though we've got hints of his doubts on the show, you're really clarifying his feelings.

Marlene's conversation with Leslie was fantastic. Watching the show, I think we always kind of want to fast forward and have them be madly in love without any wrongdoings, but Marlene put it into perspective. It is painful, but true to the show.

I always adore Ann conversations in your fic. We don't get enough of it on the show.

Gah. From your description I was expecting another rehash of the events so far with just some extra behind the scenes angst and I wasn't super excited about reading it. BUT THIS IS SO MUCH MORE. It's beautiful. I loved the flashback scene and want more more more.

It feels vaguely how he imagines Galileo must have felt when he first considered the possibility that the Earth revolved around the Sun rather than the other way around.

I am SO glad you wrote this because, and I hate myself for even thinking this, I was starting to resent Leslie just a little bit. And it was probably more me projecting my own post break-up feelings than anything the actual character did, but there you go. It’s strange because even though Leslie is the main character, last week was the first episode we saw the break up through her eyes. So it was starting to seem like it wasn’t affecting her at all while Ben was breaking down in a batman suit and the whole thing just felt so unbalanced and sad.

But yeah, this story really puts both sides into perspective and highlights all the things that make the show and the characters so wonderful. So I'm officially making it my head canon. And while I would prefer that you update all of your stories (preferably right now, if I had my way) I really want you to finish this one. I can't wait to read more!

Watching Ben/Leslie is killing me because I'm going through a breakup right now where I have to see him everyday still and it sucks :( And this helps puts things in perspective.
