So, I thought as a surprise, I'd do a little mini-makeover on Lauren's room while she's gone. Since she loves animals, I thought perhaps jungle. I don't know if I'm going to bother painting the walls (I may paint canvases or put up canvases with animals on them or something) but I don't think the current Nomadic Desert colour is bad. I have seen those nets at Pier 1. Do you have one near you? Or can you fashion one out of old window sheers maybe?

I did a tropical jungle themed room for my niece when she was born. It was very cartoony. It was mostly painted stuff (small budget): I painted the whole room (including ceiling) a deep sky blue, did grass all around the bottom 1/4-1/3 or so of the walls, painted two big palm trees framing her crib, and painted Ben & Jerry-esque clouds on the ceiling. The non-painted stuff I did: jungle animal bedding (the inspiration for the whole room), zebra door pulls on the closet, framed prints of cartoon giraffes, zebras, and lions, and netting curtains. She had also received a cute palm tree table lamp (with little animals peeking around it) as a gift, which was perfect! I think there was more, but I can't remember now.

Sofie's room is jungle! Her room is painted orange (was when we bought the place) and we have a leaf canopy from IKEA (this one actually http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60054636.) They had netting as smaller kids Lauren's age but recently had an incident of neck entanglement (and JUMPING, holy horror) so that's gone now. My mom sent some sort of stick on decals that were super cute, and eventually I plan to paint some animals on her walls. But, since I have some foam core I may paint them on that and cut out to attach to her walls. Other than that, some animal fabric up for curtains, stuffed animals about, fake foliage, all the stuff you've got going on! Sounds adorable!
