in using these meds together, it can heavily affect your kidneys, adrenals, thyroid, hormones, and bones. i was being allowed too much advair (it made my lungs FANTASTIC), and as a result, my adrenals stopped working so well. this can become permanent, and you don't want that. my adrenals did normalize, eventually (if you get sick or already have diabetes, it can lead to a whole horror house of problems if you get sick during this). i lost hair on my body, but it came back once they began to normalize. i gained a pile of unwanted weight and also, my hormones have been heavily out of whack for over a year- to the point of needing to take hormones. (we'll see- it's likely. my gyn appt is at the end of this week). they're talking of putting me on them to help my bones- and i don't know if i'll ever go off them. :-/
maybe you should ask her about adrenal insufficiency, and if that's why she's particular about your doseage/changing your meds?
i have not had any side effects like those and i am diabetic. i have been on them for 3-4 yrs. i have hypothyroidism but i know thats not the same as adrenal glands. they have not said that there has been anything alarming with recent blood work. the reason they gave me was my bone density even though she did not say that it has decreased...just that it had the potential to decrease it.
Steroids are nasty things anyway and I wish I didn't take them. But to answer your actual question, sort of, I have had many issues with my consultants which is a key reason why I combine their treatments with Chinese medicine.
