So, Cory and I are headed down to LA (technically Burbank and surrounding environs) for our anniversary in March. We're meeting up with a couple of friends that we know from Albany and spending a Saturday doing god knows what at this point (maybe CityWalk, Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica Pier/Venice Beach, La Brea--a couple of those things,

We're still in the area, living quite close to Burbank. Friday night may be a bit late, but Saturday morning sounds like a real possibility.

Cool. It'd be March 18th, so maybe we can plan something out.

Hopefully you got a sleeper for the ride back up. While coach seats on a train are awesome compared to airline seats, a private compartment is oh-so nice. Hopefully the food has gotten better as well. I have ridden Amtrak in good times and bad. The Coast Starlight used to have a lounge just for sleeper guests. On one trip it even included a movie theater. Those were the good times.

Yeap, we got a 'roomette.' I'm not sure about the lounge any more, but they still have a full dining car and whatnot.
