Life has been nuts. My dad got into a huge fight with my uncle and aunt; the whole family is breaking up and my mom (who has dementia) needs special care. So. All this means I'm helping my parents sell their house and move up here to the Portland area where they can get the help they both need. Congratulations on being the sane one in the family. Unfortunate that it means that this type of stuff seems to be falling on your shoulders. On the lighter side, with any luck, we'll see you at FC.

Yeap. My aunt called me the "white knight in shining armor" to which I replied "after 15 years of being the black sheep, now I'm the white knight?" She didn't seem to appreciate that, but my uncle at least acknowledged how I felt.

But yes! I'm hoping to see y'all at FC.

Nothing like family drama to make you want to pull your hair out. Makes me glad that my immediate family and those within driving distance are relatively drama free and the rest who might be an issue are pretty much on the other side of the country lol
Wish you the best in dealing with them and glad at least things with the brother represent a bright side.

Wow it’s been 20 years since you’ve been to FC? Because FC 2004 was the first time I attended that convention, and I think that’s where we met in person. Crazy how time flies.

Nah unfortunately my job is aggravating when it comes to scheduling time off. I think the last time I attended FC was in 2016.

Have a fantastic time, I’ve always enjoyed attending that con.
