Well...

I think we've found the new contender for WORST.THING.EVER!

Cleaning out a formerly full deep chest freezer that has been unknowingly unplugged for ~20 days. Not only does this involve removing the spoiled items - it also involves cleaning up the 8 INCHES of putrid taupe slop in the bottom.

Fun times...

Worse than that: My grandfather's brother had an ice chest in the basement. It died one day. My granduncle was disabled and unable to go downstairs at all. No one noticed this for Months. And, once someone found out, no one did anything about it for years since nobody wanted to deal with several months' worth of decayed flesh. Heh. I don't think anyone actually took care of it until he died and they hired people to clean out the house.

Except that that's worse in a different way. The situation itself is worse, but you actually have to deal with it. And that sucks. You have my sympathy. Ew.

Thank you for the sympathy!

On a totally unrelated note, how are you guys doing? I've been thinking about the 2 1/2 of you quite a bit...

We're doing great! The Squid is squirmy; we're actually decorating for holidays this year; have had some people visiting recently; don't have the house ready for a baby yet; strongly dislike our jobs; are thinking that it's cheaper for us to buy a house than rent an apartment. Mmm... that about covers it. I think. :o) How 'bout you guys, other than putrid sludge?

That's pretty nasty.

Surprisingly, I was able to eat 2 full plates of food afterward.

Not liquified sludge pie though...which smells pleasantly like cinnamon and apples when mixed with Pine-Sol! Should there be a next time, I should foist the mixture on some unsuspecting coworkers.... ;-)
