I never realized just how many castles there were in Europe. Your country is like a fairytale dream!
The ruins are so beautiful. I love ruins, because when you walk through them, you have to use your imagination to visualize what they must have looked like in all their splendor. They really make you feel closer to the people and the land and the history of the places that they reside in.
The statue with the angels is wonderful. And the gardens! I love ornate gardens. That little marble statue is cute, too. He's like a miniature Sisyphus :)
See I knew you would know what the creature was called I couldn't think of it, from greek mythology right? anywho, I think I love ruins better then "whole" castles, I completely agree imagination is the key, and there is just such wonderful presence and mystery when you are surrounded by them...Poland had a lot more but unfortunately the war did its thing...and now they are gone :( what is left, still is beautiful, I will post more tommorow..
