In regards to my last post on the grammy nominations I got to thinking about some things....Alot of bands like Nile, Emperor, Bathory, ......death metal or black metal bands really get little or no exposure here in the states. Look at our Ozzfest for instance. Look how pathetic it has become. Over in Europe Ozzfest ROCKS. America is so self ( Read more... )

Nile kicks ass, especially to an ex-archaeologist like myself.

Michael Laird of Unto Ashes (who is a close friend) is a HUGE closet black metal fan, and was the person who got me hooked on Nile and Dimmu Borgir.

Ya, Nile is definelty my favorite band at the moment. Dimmu Borgir kicks ass too. I think that, "Spiritual Black Dimensions" is on the greatest cds of all time. Their new release kicks ass too....:)

Yeah, "Spiritual Black Dimensions" is one of my faves.

As for the tattoo, believe it or not, I designed it myself.

You can see a larger picture of it here:

Even if a show like that did happen. It would last a year while being good. Maybe two. Then mainstream America would find a way to corrupt it. Just like what happened with Lalapalooza. Ozzfest was good the first few years. v_v

And I'm jealous of the Nile show you get to see. *pouts* They aren't coming anywhere near here. The closest is too far to drive without staying over night. Bah.

Yes, more exposure would be good. The main problem with shows for me is that they tore down a major venue for ALL types of music here. It was decent size. Good for both big and little shows. They tore it down for a shopping mall. It still is just a tore up lot right now. They should've let them stay there longer. Now there's a BIGGER venue, not stadium size, but bigger than the previous one. And then a really tiny one that is a fucking country western bar. On the opposite side of town from me besides. Since they're fairly new to getting shows, I don't think the venues themselves are known by the bands and/or bookers.. so we go without shows here. *pout* Sad, very sad. ;_;

Yes, the European/Black Metal bands always play small venues here. That's cool though cause it is easier to meet them that way....;).
