Watch my poetry get reamed here.

Even Jay Bradley hates my shit.

Damn, glad I've got a verbally abusive family otherwise some of this stuff might actually hurt.

I like the inherint touch of almost racism. Probably shouldn't have submitted with Chicano poetry-esque with the epicness of Corky Gonzales.

1. you spelled "inherent" wrong. unless you meant to do that.

b. lj_trembyle has some seriously good advice. and it's gettin me all heated to go in with a scalpal on your next manuscript. some of these folks may not know what they're talking about (cue j. bradley) but they're saying smart, accurate things... somehow.

3. you know b. has as much to do with my recent (last two years) obsession with shortening my poems, too.

1. Inherrent was spelled wrong cause I'm a beaner who can't spell.

2. trembyle had some points, though I do not like to be talked down to.

3. To quote Levi, "I don't like shortening poems that were never meant to be shortened. Would you cut off two inches of your dick cause a girl told you it was too long?"

After being thoroughly disgusted at a lot of the racism there, I got to the one about the guy who suggested something along the lines of "take all the cultural elements out of your poems and try to write" - isn't it intereseting how nobody will say to a black poet "hey, why don't you take all the references to your culture and background out of your poetry and see what you can write?" Or telling a woman "hey, can you knock off all that stuff about feminism and then try writing a poem ( ... )
