I could frame this comment, it's so lovely. Honestly, you brought a smile to my face during what has been a pretty sucktastic day. So thank you so much!

It's been a good, long while since I've read House & Wilson presented in a new light-- and yet they seem so familiar, the way you've painted them.

What a fantastic thing to hear. I can't claim any special understanding of them - just that shiny new character feeling, because I'm so relatively new to House fandom. They haven't lost any of their lustre for me, which is something I'm encountering in my other, older fandoms. I feel like it's all been done, and I don't have that with House. Plus there's the added challenge of writing in a fandom that's so large - it probably HAS been done, so you want to do something different.

I love the way you thread the characterization with music (music has always seemed so essential to House)Oh, absolutely. Like I've mentioned before, the music aspect of House is one of the things I love best about both the show and the character. There are so ( ... )

I have to admit, House's music preferences goes over my head, since it's not anything I've dabbled in

Wow, that's the polar opposite of me. I know most of the music he listens to/plays, and they're always perfect choices. I'd love to see them branch out from the Stones-as-House ("You Can't Always Get What You Want" is an awesome song, but srsly, I think he listens to other Stones stuff. "Gimme Shelter" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", especially).

*adds your del.icio.us*

Heee. I am rather in love with that line as well. I definitely wanted to include it, and in early drafts, it just wasn't fitting in right. I'm glad to know it works now!

Ooooooh…

That was great. I’m usually not very fond of “established” House/Wilson -- it doesn’t really make sense to me that they would be having sex long before the show aired -- but this… Oooh, does it work or does it work! It’s beautiful that the story is told in “glimpses” instead of a stream-of-conscious kind of way. And the music references… Yes. Thank you. There aren’t enough fics with focus on music. And your language is lovely, and your characterization of Wilson makes me want to melt.

I’m sorry if I started to rant and made weird noises, I just couldn’t help myself. I’m meme’ing this and adding it to my fic rec-list.

I have to agree with you completely. This fic was MY exception, too - because I just didn't see it working at all if the relationship wasn't established. And I was willing to suspend my disbelief because I loved the premise so much.

There definitely aren't. I mean, I just have such love for House's piano and guitar-playing and singing, and that it's such a big part of the character. And in my mind, that also includes the actors' talents - so my House plays drums (because Hugh plays drums, too), and my Wilson has a rather good voice (because RSL has that gorgeous Broadway tenor). And really, half the fun of writing this story was coming up with songs that were apropos, and moments they shared.

And your language is lovely, and your characterization of Wilson makes me want to melt.*blushes* Thank ( ... )
