oh man, I just finished and turned in my program portfolio that reviews all the stuff I did and thought about in the last two years at school. now I just have to take three exams and write a ten page paper (that I haven't started, yikes!) by Friday and I will graduate with a masters in teaching.

yay! yikes! back to work!

SO the one job I've applied for so far wrote me back saying I looked like an interesting candidate and they want me to send them a unit plan with samples of students' work, letters of recommendation and, most nerve-wracking, a written statement of my educational philosophy. I just (finally) sent out my first cover letter and resume for a teaching job. There is something about this process that paralizes me. Last time I was stuck and depressed and unemployed for a year. Yesterday I went down to the swampy part of Beebe Lake on campus. Last summer, being a little bored and sick of inside work, I went down there almost every day from May to August. One day I saw two snapping turtles and the next day I saw one of them, and I never saw them again after that despite looking long and hard in between looking for frogs, ( Read more... )

I made a little handlebar bag with a turtle on it. Today i saw three painted turtles and a leopard frog. and black capped chickadees, and a cute little wren, and a nuthatch. I also saw a chipmunk. it's definitely spring again.

Brian's mom sent us a gift certificate for the fanciest restaurant in ithaca, so we used it to go out for brian's birthday last night ( Read more... )

Brian and I are going to visit Cambridge this coming weekend. I think we'll come friday night and leave monday, since i have spring break next week and don't have to rush back to classes.

dude, I had a good weekend. Brian's friend from college, eric came to visit with a girlfriend that we hadn't met yet. She's from berlin and seems nice and cool.
