Massive media roundup

May 01, 2016 15:19

Wanted to do another holiday post, but am feeling a bit uncommunicative. Nevertheless - media roundup! This one goes back about three weeks.

- Finally saw Victor Frankenstein (on the plane, to which it was perfectly suited). I do think I would have been disappointed if I'd made a trip to the movies specifically to see it, but as a gap filler it ( Read more... )

I think Sherpa is an Australian production, so it's less likely to have got round overseas, but it's amazing. I think I've always found what goes on "behind the scenes" as or even more interesting than the "performance" itself sometimes, and that was certainly the case here (referring to the Sherpas vs climbers, not the documentary team in this instance *g*). Anyway, your day of tramping in a line doesn't sound that different when it comes right down to it. Again, not to take anything away from the genuine effort and ability involved in climbing Everest even with support ( ... )

I actually managed to keep track of all the superheroes.
Lucky you :) As for Martin Freeman, I thought of Fargo too. He was somewhat sadistic in the end :)

Hee - I was pretty impressed, since there were an awful lot of them! Yeah, it was weird because I think MF was using the Fargo accent as well (okay, not really, but at certain points it sounded the same), and he just seemed out of sync with the rest of the movie, but that could also have been because I was too aware that he was playing an American.

Oh, dear! I feel for you, I truly do *g*

(If it helps, I was totally planning to see it at the cinema too, had it marked out on my planner, and then... it just disappeared from the movie websites. As though it had never been. It's like they knew...)

I was 100% ready for this to be my new ship and it didn't even make it out of the dock. =(

I watched Clue many times when I was younger - my sister and I continue to quote it to each other - and I think that I would still find it a guilty pleasure.

Hmm, I wonder whether our local theatre will show "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" since it had closed by the time I last visited London...

It was one of those movies that somehow entirely escaped my attention - I literally only knew it existed because of the 'flames' gif. Although I suppose I miiight have heard vaguely about it and immediately forgotten. It was well worth it, though *g*

Yeah, I don't know the exact rules behind the NT screenings, but they seem to clump them together for a particular area. There may well be an encore, though!
