Matthew Shepherd was murdered ten years ago today.

Del Martin, who with her wife Phyllis Lyon founded the lesbian rights movement in the United States in the 1950s, died this morning. She was 87, and had been partner to Phyllis for 55 of those years.

It is summer, so I am working from home. I did a bit of reading in my p.j.s before my shower this morning. Around 10 am, I decided it was time to shower and put on real clothes. At least two minutes into the shower, I realized that I still had a pencil stuck in my hair.
