Exit 2006 stage right
Well that was that then. 2006 was a strange year, I wandered through most of it with a lost expression on my face, even though, when I look back on it, I've done quite a lot.

Christmas in the Sticks

I have a new job!
I've been looking for some part time work for ages. I wanted to find something that was flexible and informal, something where I didn't have to attend a gruelling interview and learn loads of new policies and procedures, something where I could relax a bit and not have to be a responsible youth worker. Birthday
Last week it was my birthday, and as birthdays go it wasn't a bad one. In fact, it was certainly the best London birthday that I have had, and it was long way away from some of the disastorous birthdays of my early 20s. Adjust your eyes to the dark
Its getting cold outside isn't it? I've gone pre hibernation mode, I'm comfort eating like anything - lots of porridge with cinamon and honey, currant bread, halva, dark chocolate. I think that its my way of dealing with the lack of sunshine.

Thoughts on climate change
At the weekend, amongst other things, I went to see An Inconvenient Truth, the documentary by Al Gore about climate change. I would recomend it as something you might want to go and see, even though you might think, as I thought, that a film by a politician is inevitably going to be incredibly dull, or that you know what you need to know about ( Read more... ) -
Back to School
I have enrolled myself onto two evening classes, both of which started this week. On Monday I trecked down to Morley College in Lambeth to start a Jazz Piano course. Morley is the politest Further Education college I have ever been to, it focuses purely on part time adult education courses, mainly in the arts and performing arts areas, so there ( Read more... ) -

Edinburgh
So I'm in Edinburgh, have been here for nearly a week. I'm loving it. All these memories are coming back from when I lived here briefly five years ago. I keep magically findng myself outside cafes and shops that I used to go to, but had forgotten all about, and I get very excited at rediscovering them.
