Melou's actually in a good mood today. And, of course, when Melou's in a good mood, it means he's walking around with a smirk on his face and looking (and acting) like a cocky arrogant bastard. At the moment, he's also looking extraordinarily pleased with himself

Also safely back to male, and hence slouched on a couch downstairs, half asleep. You know, like usual.

Half asleep on a couch, you say? Well, typist willing, Melou might just come up behind him and get his attention by slapping him hard across the back of the head.

Typist is willing, and though Cal smelled Melou coming he wasn't expecting that, and starts up with what is actually a genuine growl.

"Oh," he says, "It's you, asshat."

"Good morning, Cal," Melou says, cheerily. (Yes, really. Though the cheeriness is mostly there to get on Cal's nerves.) "What are you doing?"

Lucivar understands the feeling. After all, he had it too.

Except then his girl called him a half-breed and he was mocked mercilessly by every Eyrien within a two mile radius. (It's really no wonder he has issues, is it.)

However, Lucivar is probably out on the lawn at the moment, fully grown and past that shit, dammit, and practicing with his stick. Moving fluidly through the motions with almost mindless ease.

Melou spots Lucivar and heads over towards him, taking long strides and basically exuding cockiness.

"Lucivar," he calls, and he actually sounds happy. It might be a bit shocking.

Lucivar looks up, and does...blink. Startled, pausing in his routine. "Melou," he says, carefully. The kid seems in a good mood. That could be a good sign or a...very bad sign. Depending.

Melou looks suitably haughty. "What?"

Medraut is pleasantly surprised when he sees how happy Melou is. Because it's nice to see his son genuinely happy, for once, and because he has an inkling this might be something teaseworthy.

"Someone's having a good day," he says, raising his eyebrows.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Melou says, though he draws himself up a little higher when he says it, and looks even more proud of himself. He's practically preening, in fact.

"Really," Medraut says, "Did you win a fight? Come into some money? Tell now."

"No," Melou says. "I already said I don't know what you're talking about. I think you've gone mad."

At any rate, she's training out in the clearing, if Melou wants to gloat at her... and possibly get eyebrow'd at.

Melou wanders into the clearing, and he's actually smiling. (Well, smirking might be a more accurate description. But still).

"What are you doing?" he asks, when he spots Anita.

He can see what she's doing, of course. He just wonders why she's training instead of paying attention to him.

The smirk gets Melou a raised eyebrow, but Anita doesn't really interrupt her routine. It's part of her philosophy - teach them younguns to respect what others are doing.

When she's done, she says, idly, as she reaches for her water, "The obvious, kiddo. What's got you all hyped up?"

Straight to the point. She's predictable that way.

"Nothing," Melou says, but with a knowing smile that says it definitely is something. He's just not telling her what it is.
