In my old car, my stereo would shut on off right before it was about to die. Like one time I was driving mom around and it would just shut completely off. I'd turn it back on, it'd play again for a bit, then shut off. And later that night I took it to JC's and the stereo wouldn't even stay on for 5 seconds, and it died as soon as I shut it off in the driveway. That was when the alternator was going bad...O_o I dunno, that might just be my car though. Hopefully yours isn't gonna die and maybe it's wiring or something else.

im sure its not anything to do with the power, it has to be the wiring or the speakers because the cd player still works
