An excellent column by C.W. Nevius in the San Francisco Chronicle today about how the definition of marriage has shifted over time.

Since I haven't said it here yet, I want to state for the record that same-sex marriages do not threaten my marriage to chiefted in any way.

For those who like voting on news polls about same-sex marriages: Today's San Francisco Chronicle has a little poll. Expectedly, this one is running very heavily in favor of wanting Gavin Newsom to continue licensing same-sex marriages. But it was fun to vote in a poll where my viewpoint is, for once, also the dominant viewpoint.
