00:13 - 1:03
Fang: The twin sisters.
Fang: I've got to hand it to you for taking 'em down, but don't gloat just yet.
Fang: Might come a time you wish you'd let 'em end it, and made things easy.
Snow: More of you, huh?
Fang: He's a l'Cie. Take him.
Snow: Back off.
Fang: You want to keep breathing? Shut up and come quiet.

1:34 - 1:50
Fang: Stand down.
Snow: You too? Why are you helping them?
Fang: If I were you, I'd worry about myself.

00:14 - 1:16
Lightning: Who are you?
Fang: Where do I start?
Fang: I've got a few screws loose, but I'm a l'Cie, same as you.
Fang: Difference being...
Fang: I wasn't born on Cocoon.
Fang: I'm from Gran Pulse.
Fang: The "world below" you all hate so much.
Fang: My partner and I'd turned to crystal there and gone to sleep.
Fang: But when we came around, here we were.
Fang: The reason Cocoon's in such an uproar is the same reason you're here now.
Fang: Vanille and I woke up.

3:39 - 7:24
Fang: When we came out of crystal stasis, we didn't remember our Focus or what we'd done.
Fang: All we could do was wander Cocoon, looking for what we'd lost.
Day 5: Euride Gorge Energy Plant
Vanille: Let's give up! Forget our Focus, we don't need it!
Fang: We don't need it?
Fang: Look, if we don't figure it out and pull it off, you're gonna be a Cie'th.
Vanille: It's just--making a kid that young a l'Cie?
Vanille: It's not right!
Fang: Yeah, it's unfair.
Fang: But guess what? We grin and bear it like good l'Cie, or the fal'Cie starts making more.
Fang: Like that girl the other day.
Fang: It doesn't matter what our Focus is. We do it, whether we like it or not.
Vanille: But--
Fang: Say we call it quits. You think these people will let us go?
Fang: They'll lynch us in the street.
Fang: Listen, Vanille.
Fang: We do what we gotta do and get ourselves off this filthy world, as fast as we can.
Vanille: Fang?
Fang: You get out of here first. I'll buy you some time.
Fang: Now, don't you worry.
Fang: I'll come and find you, no matter where you go.
Vanille: Wait! Fang!
Vanille: Fang! Please! Don't leave me!
Fang: You're not gonna end up a Cie'th.
Fang: You boy's coming or not? Your fight's right here!

Fang: By the time I took care of 'em all, Vanille was long gone.
Fang: After that, Raines and his Cavalry found me.
Fang: I never stopped searching for Vanille, but I couldn't find her.
Fang: Her, or our Focus.
Lightning: So, you're telling me Serah will come back to life someday, too?
Fang: Yep.
Fang: We didn't do our job right.
Fang: That's why it made her a l'Cie.
Fang: We messed up.
Fang: Sorry.
Fang: That it?
Lightning: You sure better hope so.
Lightning: But whether we're square, that's up to Serah.
Fang: You sound exactly like Snow.
Fang: And he didn't hit me.
Lightning: Wait, he already knows this?
Fang: Wow.
Fang: That's a load off.
Fang: Glad I apologized!
Lightning: You apologized so you'd feel better?
Fang: Guess so.
Fang: How about you? Feel any better now that you hit me?
Lightning: It didn't change anything.
Fang: Tell that to my jaw.

7:24 - 7:40
Lightning: Felix Heights is up there.
Lightning: Still a ways before we get to Hope's place.
Fang: Better pick it up.
Lightning: We'll head through that gate.
Fang: Right.

8:48 - 10:17
Fang: Okay. Let's get Snow on the line.
Fang: Damn thing's still jammed.
Fang: Eh, he can take care of himself.
Lightning: We'll just have to believe that.
Fang: Hey, Fang.
Lightning: The others are safe, right?
Lightning: If any of us got caught, they'd make an announcement.
Fang: Yeah they would. They'd have to let everyone know that the big, bad l'Cie can't hurt 'em no more.
Fang: These Cocoon people--bunch of cowards and blowhards.
Lightning: "These Cocoon people" have spent centuries under fal'Cie law, in constant fear of a Pulse invasion.
Lightning: If it weren't for Serah, I'd have been out there too. Hunting l'Cie.
Lightning: Would have been nothing but targets to me.
Fang: Well, Gran Pulse is just as twisted.
Fang: "Cocoon's a floating nest of vipers, ready to strike."
Fang: Or so I thought.
Lightning: So you became a l'Cie to fight the "vipers."
Lightning: And destroying the nest is your--
Lightning: I mean, our Focus now.

00:00 - 1:35
Fang: Until we woke up here, we'd been in crystal stasis.
Fang: Which means, we must've completed our first Focus.
Fang: Why can't I remember that part?
Fang: My childhood's clear as day.
Fang: But the one thing I need--it's just gone.
Fang: Blank. Like an empty page.
Fang: I reach for the memory, and nothing's there.
Fang: Then there's my brand. It's all messed up.
Fang: Vanille and me, we lost our past and our Focus.
Lightning: And now, you want to find them?
Lightning: Be a Pulse l'Cie?
Lightning: An enemy of Cocoon?
Fang: Pulse and Cocoon can rot for all I care.
Fang: If I don't figure out our Focus soon...
Fang: Vanille's gonna be a Cie'th.
Fang: I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her.

2:28 - 4:47
Fang: Hey, Lightning.
Lightning: Call me Light.
Fang: Did you see Vanille's brand?
Lightning: No.
Fang: No, huh?
Fang: Want to know how long until it's Cie'th city? Just look at your brand.
Fang: You start getting more arrows, and then finally an eye.
Fang: Once it opens all the way, you're done.
Fang: Let's have a look.
Fang: Don't be shy.
Fang: Nowhere near. You got time.
Fang: Still, you never know.
Fang: Some people, doesn't take so long.
Fang: You get a nasty shock, it can speed up the process.
Fang: Vanille's brand must be pretty far along by now.
Fang: I've got to save her and get her home.
Lightning: To Pulse, you mean?
Fang: To Gran Pulse.
Fang: I hear that the Sanctum prevents people from leaving Cocoon.
Fang: I'd like to see 'em try and stop me.
Lightning: So, that's your plan?
Lightning: I wish I had one.
Lightning: Without Serah, without a future, there's nothing to plan for.
Lightning: There's no way out of this mess, and no way to fight it.
Lightning: I'm stuck trading blows with the Sanctum, but that's no plan.
Lightning: Even if we topple the government, where's that leave us?
Lightning: With nothing to fight for?
Lightning: I might as well be dead.
Fang: Your sister.
Fang: You've got plenty to fight for. Think about it.
Fang: Don't you want to see Serah, after she wakes up?
Fang: That's your future right there.
Fang: All you've gotta do is survive.
Fang: It's simple!
Lightning: Simple.
Lightning: Snow!
Fang: They've found 'em!

Chapter 9

3:05 - 10:47
Fang: Come on, let's get this show on the road!
Fang: I finally found Vanille again, and I'll be damned if I'm just gonna stand around while she's in trouble!
Fang: I'm not kidding when I say the world can burn if that's what it takes to save Vanille.
Fang: We've got to get in there and take this Dysley guy down.
Fang: That'll pay Raines back for helping us out, and be one in the eye for the Sanctum--their reward for trying to kill us.
(Fang: So, Raines is "Brigadier General," and you're a "sergeant"? What's with the whole ranking system anyway?
Fang: You Cocoon folks sure like your rules and regulations. Explains why you've put up with the Sanctum's nonsense for so long.)

3:38 - 4:35
Rygdea: This baby back here's a PSICOM vessel.
Rygdea: It'll deliver you to The Palamecia.
Snow: Oh, so we're cargo now?
Rygdea: A partying gift to our rotting government. Take those PSICOM guys apart.
Lightning: And we're supposed to take on all of them? I think the whole division's on board.
Fang: I don't care how many lackeys they've got. Bring 'em on! Vanille's in there.
Hope: I'm sure she's fine.
Hope: Vanille's tougher than I could ever be.
Lightning: Hope, are you scared?
Hope: Yeah, I'm terrified. But I'll be okay.
Hope: Because I have you, and this guy, and Fang.
Hope: We're all in this mess. We've got to stick together.
Rygdea: Right, enough with the bonding.
Rygdea: It's go time.
Snow: What do you mean, "this guy"?

8:37 - 8:48
Fang: Looks like they want to play.
Snow: No kidding. So where to?
Fang: Right up there.

3:15 - 6:15
Fang: Vanille!
Vanille: Fang!
Fang: You've still got time.
Vanille: Fang...
Vanille: There's--there's something I need to tell you.
Fang: Making me worry like that...
Fang: We'll talk later, Missy.
Snow: What's wrong?
Sazh: Huh?
Sazh: Oh, uh...nothing! It's nothing.
Sazh: So, uh...what's on the agenda?
Snow: Toppling the Sanctum.
Sazh: No, I mean really.
Lightning: He's serious. We're gonna take down the Sanctum and give Cocoon back to the people.
Lightning: The fal'Cie have called the shots for long enough.
Hope: If we pull this off, it'll be a miracle.
Fang: Well, good thing Lady Luck's on our side.
Sazh: More of 'em?
Snow: You know, this is getting really old.
Fang: Check this out. A miracle--Gran Pulse style!
Fang: Vanille, go fish!
Vanille: Got it.
Vanille: Fang!
Fang: That's a good girl!
Fang: All right!
Vanille: Let's get on!
Fang: Believe in Lady Luck now?
Sazh: Yeah--Lady Bad Luck!
Snow: Time to Purge a Primarch!
Fang: You got it!
Fang: Ya!
Fang: Jump!

6:55 - 7:15
Lightning: Dysley's through there.
Fang: We're still gonna have our talk.
Fang: But let's survive this first, yeah?
Vanille: Right.

00:00 - 3:26
Snow: A fal'Cie running the Sanctum...
Hope: Then...I guess it wasn't Eden controlling things after all.
Barthandelus: As I said.
Barthandelus: I am Lord Sovereign.
Sazh: Guess fal'Cie don't go down as easy as the rest of us.
Barthandelus: Ease is not the issue. You have not fought to win.
Barthandelus: You should know quite well already the sure way of dispatching our kind.
Barthandelus: Ragnarok.
Fang: What's Ragnarok?
Barthandelus: Pitiful l'Cie, you've forgotten your Focus.
Barthandelus: Ragnarok is the beast one of you must become in order to lay waste to Cocoon.
Barthandelus: You have had the dream.
Barthandelus: One among you will become that monstrosity, defeat Orphan, and destroy Cocoon.
Lightning: Orphan?
Barthandelus: The font of Eden's power.
Barthandelus: Orphan fuels Eden with strength, and Eden in turn sustains you and the rest of our kind.
Barthandelus: Destroy Orphan, and you'll release a force such as this world has never seen.
Barthandelus: Cocoon will be torn asunder.
Fang: So if I did that...
Fang: Destroyed Orphan...
Barthandelus: Your Focus would be fulfilled.
Lightning: So what?
Lightning: Who says it has to be?
Snow: Serah asked us to save Cocoon before she turned to crystal.
Snow: Save it! And that's what we're gonna do!
Snow: Serah was trying to tell us how to complete our Focus, and we have--
Barthandelus: Allow me to help you see the truth of things.
Barthandelus: The moment you arrived, your friend wept crystal tears.
Barthandelus: This was because her Focus required that you be brought together.
Barthandelus: That girl did nothing but assemble the tools for Cocoon's destruction.
Barthandelus: Did it never occur to you?
Barthandelus: Or did you simply refuse to countenance the thought?
Barthandelus: If you will not face the truth, then face the peril of your plight.
Barthandelus: Run, l'Cie! See how stark reality is!
Lightning: Come on!

Chapter 10
6:05 - 8:05
Lightning: Where are we?
Vanille: Looks like a piece of Pulse.
Sazh: Pulse? What, you mean like the Bodhum Vestige?
Sazh: Something like that, this close to Eden...
Fang: Yeah, well, what I don't understand is, after the Purge, and all that l'Cie paranoia...
Fang: ...why keep a chunk of Pulse under the floorboards?
Hope: Is this what the Primarch wanted us to see?
Lightning: A place for l'Cie to accept their fate.
Hope: Do you really think our Focus is what Dysley said it is?
Vanille: You mean, become Ragnarok.
Sazh: Destroy the fal'Cie Eden, and shatter Cocoon.
Sazh: That's what the vision is telling us, more or less.
Sazh: So, we're back to square one. Out of luck.
Vanille: Mr. Hero! Cocoon calling Snow!
Hope: It's almost like Dysley wants it to come true.
Sazh: Seems that way.
Sazh: He sure didn't mind explaining it. "Here's your Focus on a silver platter."
Vanille: But that doesn't make sense. I don't get it.
Vanille: Why would a Cocoon fal'Cie want to destroy Cocoon?
Hope: Maybe it's a fal'Cie thing.
Hope: You know what I mean? Some grand design we just don't understand.
Fang: Hey, Snow! Nothing from you?
Sazh: So, this way?

9:40 - 10:25
Fang: Been checking your brand?
Fang: You start to stray, or take too much of a shock, your brand will change and it'll be, "Next stop: Cie'th Central."
Fang: Keep that in mind.
Fang: My brand's as messed up as the rest of me. Never changes.
Fang: I might be able to get away with ignoring my Focus, but the rest of you ain't so lucky.
Fang: I don't even want to think about being the only one left, herding a flock of Cie'th around.
Fang: Snow's taking this all pretty hard.
Fang: Seeing him go from being so damn upbeat to such a mopey wreck is making me feel depressed.
Fang: I'm worried about his brand.

5:50 - 8:10
Vanille: This place--it must be an Ark.
Lightning: An Ark?
Fang: That's what they called 'em.
Vanille: Long ago, the fal'Cie who made their home on Gran Pulse were afraid of invasion from the outside.
Vanille: As part of their battle preparations, they created an army of living weapons.
Vanille: And they stored those weapons in Arks, and they hid the Arks all over the world.
Fang: Everyone on Gran Pulse knew the legend.
Lightning: So, this is basically a Pulse armory.
Fang: Most of us never believed in 'em.
Fang: A few people tried searching, but they never found a thing.
Fang: Who'd have thought to look on Cocoon?
Sazh: Right under our noses. That's some secret they kept.
Sazh: Those Sanctum guys, what are they up to?
Vanille: The story's not done.
Vanille: There's more.
Fang: They used to say the Arks had a more practical purpose.
Lightning: Huh. Really.
Fang: Yeah, to force l'Cie to master their shiny new powers.
Lightning: Okay, so, I get it. Dysley's goal is to forge us into stronger weapons. Right.
Sazh: Not Cie'th, but monsters all the same.
Hope: Think of it as training for the fight ahead.
Vanille: Hope's right!
Sazh: Wait. What was that?
Snow: Aw, these guys again.
Lightning: Fun times.
Hope: Over there! We've got to keep moving!

4:30 - 9:40
Snow: Raines?
Fang: What?
Snow: Easy, guys, it's all right.
Snow: Raines is a Sanctum officer. He's been helping us out--
Fang: Why are you here?
Lightning: Raines!
Lightning: You traitor!
Cid: I put you on the path. That was my Focus.
Fang: You're a l'Cie?
Cid: Since long before we met.
Cid: I did my best to assist you, as bid by the Sanctum fal'Cie.
Cid: Now do you understand?
Cid: The fal'Cie have watched over you, guiding your every step.
Cid: The "luck" that saved you time and again was a deliberate machination.
Cid: Why, you may ask?
Cid: The Primarch--or should I say, Barthandelus--is crafting you into the instruments of Cocoon's demise.
Fang: We've been played for fools.
Sazh: A Cocoon fal'Cie? Why?
Cid: Why? To restore the Maker.
Hope: The Maker?
Cid: The entity responsible for creating both humans and fal'Cie.
Cid: Long ago, the Maker departed this world, leaving the tow races behind.
Cid: In a sense, human and fal'cie are brothers--orphaned by the same parent.
Cid: As for the humans, they forgot the order imposed by the Maker.
Cid: They began to war amongst themselves for the first time in history.
Cid: The fal'Cie focused on recalling their lost deity, and returning the world to its former glory.
Cid: This purpose lies at the heart of all their actions.
Cid: Calling back the Maker requires a fitting sacrifice.
Lightning: Yeah, we've heard. The destruction of Cocoon.
Cid: The lives of this world's entire populace in bloody tribute.
Sazh: No... That's crazy talk.
Hope: I don't get it. Why do they need us?
Hope: Couldn't the fal'Cie end Cocoon with just a thought?
Cid: Their existence is bound to the creation and maintenance of this floating shell.
Cid: It is their very nature that holds them in check.
Hope: You mean...
Hope: Cocoon fal'Cie can't destroy Cocoon?
Hope: They needed tools.
Vanille: If we can stop this by doing nothing...we'll do nothing!
Cid: Noble. I expected as much.
Snow: You lied to us.
Snow: What happened to your dream of rebuilding Cocoon for the people?
Snow: Was it all a lie?
Cid: A shadow of a dream from when I was human.
Cid: It was change I craved, and once I'd built the influence to make things happen, there was change.
Cid: I gained all the power I could hope for, but was a puppet with no will to wield it.
Cid: It wasn't the fal'Cie who changed.
Cid: It was me.
Vanille: You...you were made a l'Cie?
Cid: A l'Cie.
Cid: Tied to an inescapable Focus--a slave of destiny.
Cid: I'd lost hope. I'd all but given up on dreams of freedom.
Sazh: What are you saying?
Cid: I'm here of my own accord, not by fal'Cie order.
Cid: Seeing you fight brought it all back.
Cid: Brought back that future I once strove for.
Cid: I, too, will challenge my fate.
Lightning: Easy, guys.
Cid: If I can defeat you here, the fal'Cie plan will fail.
Fang: Raines!
Cid: I will use all my remaining power!
Cid: I will set you free!

4:15 - 5:55
Lightning: Raines...
Cid: Ironic, isn't it?
Cid: The only thing I wanted was a moment of triumph.
Cid: How it ends isn't important.
Cid: Just do what you know is right.
Cid: Trust yourselves.
Sazh: What? Did he complete his Focus?
Snow: I don't think so.
Snow: All Raines did was try to save Cocoon in his own way.
Snow: His own way!
Sazh: Hey!
Lightning: Where are you--?
Vanille: Snow!
Vanille: I think Raines was searching--searching for a way to make us understand.
Vanille: To understand the frustration of being a l'Cie--a l'Cie bound to a Focus.
Vanille: And maybe...what it meant to be human.

3:40 - 8:21
Hope: Looks like it's a dead end.
Sazh: How about down there?
Vanille: If the stories are right, it's a maze.
Fang: This place is a boot camp for l'Cie. All kinds of challenges from Gran Pulse are waiting.
Sazh: Challenges, huh? To get us all ready to go wipe out Cocoon?
Fang: We can wait here if turning Cie'th sounds better.
Sazh: I have had enough of this! Where's the way out?!
Snow: Way out? Who said there was one?
Snow: Bring it on.
Snow: My mind is made up.
Snow: Maybe I will end up a Cie'th. But until that happens, I'm gonna make Serah proud.
Snow: I couldn't bring myself to admit that this tear meant good-bye.
Snow: And that's why I kept searching for her.
Snow: But I didn't need to. Serah was here the whole time.
Snow: Right here, watching over me.
Snow: Now I get it. What this tear's been telling me is to not let our Focus win.
Snow: It's not the fal'Cie we should listen to.
Snow: It's Serah, and Raines. Do you know why?
Snow: Because our Focus doesn't matter!
Snow: What matters to me is that we protect Cocoon, whatever it takes!
Vanille: Same here.
Vanille: I'll help you do it.
Hope: All right. I'm in.
Snow: I mean, come on! When a chocobo agrees, you know you're on the right path!
Fang: Well, count me out.
Fang: If you all want to go it on your own...
Fang: Then so will I!
Lightning: Fang.
Sazh: Hey, hey, now. Hey.
Fang: Let Cocoon get what's coming.
Fang: They hate us for being l'Cie. What's it to me if they die?
Fang: Better that than watch a friend go Cie'th!
Fang: If you don't have the nerve for it, I'll do it myself.
Fang: Go on alone, get stronger, and smash Cocoon out of the sky!
Vanille: Fang?
Fang: You turn Cie'th, and there's no coming back!
Fang: I'm not...
Fang: ...letting it end that way!
Fang: What's he doing here?
Fang: Come to take pity on me?
Fang: Come to take care of a broken l'Cie?
Snow: That thing's here to help us?
Fang: Yeah, "help."
Fang: That's what Eidolons do, they help us. Eidolons are our salvation.
Fang: If we can't decide what to do next, they come put us out of our misery!
Snow: Wait, so you haven't made up your mind yet!
Fang: Why are you protecting me? What are you doing?
Lightning: Protecting one of our own. We can do without their brand of mercy.
Lightning: And we don't need a fal'Cie's orders, either.
Lightning: I'm fighting this Focus to the end. We all are.
Lightning: So please...
Lightning: Fight with us.
Fang: Ready when you are!
