What's going on?

I'm wondering if I'm growing more cynical and cold than is good for me. There have been many changes in the homegroup that I've belonged to for the last year. I've been attending this group since I got sober and it was a very small, intimate group when I first started attending. It's grown incredibly in the last year. I've been sober for just over two years now. I realized pretty early on that there were a load of sick, fucked up people in the program. It's just that becase our meeting has grown so much, the percentage of spiritually growing versus spiritually fucked up has changed to being basically the same as all of the other meetings in the area. I don't feel like we're so special anymore. I think God is saying we have to let the sick people learn from the people who are spiritual students, how to stop bein sick and become students too. I've been being greedy and wanting to keep it all to myself and our group.

I have been in AA for many years and my current homegroup i have been going to for about 6 years now.I have seen every kind of change possible for a group to go through. To the best of my ability I let my recovery show through in everyway I can without riding shotgun over some. We have a core group of people that were there before I and will certainly be there long after I move on. When i am feeling much like you have descried, i remind myself that the only requirment is to stay sober..People who play lip service either stay or go.i do not know what they need. for me it goes like this, tell the truth as fast as you can and leave the rest up to a higer power.

good luck

Thanks. Your simplicity is a welcome change from my over blown mouth! Just so you know, I'm going to steal that last part from you, "tell the truth as fast as you can and leave the rest up to a higher power."
