There's apparently only one dried apple pie recipe floating about the entire Internet. The same goddamned one at about 10,000 websites. I don't WANT to use 4 cups (or any!) apple cider. I don't WANT to use 1-3 Tbsp of heavy cream. Jeezus pleaseus.

Soak approximately 3 cups of dried apple slices in about 2-1/2 cups of water for several hours or overnight. The "apple juice" created by soaking is used in the recipe.
Mix the following ingredients with the rehydrated apples:
• 1/2 cup apple juice (the juice off of the soaked apples)
• 1/4 cup rice flour
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp. cloves
Place in a nine inch pie pan.
Dried Apple Pie
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups dried apple slices
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon -- ground
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg -- ground
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 unbaked two-crust pastry
Pour boiling water over dried apples and let soak for 3 to 4 hours. Add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well.
Fit half of pastry into a 9-inch pie pan and pour apple mixture into this.
Dot with butter or margarine cut into bits.
Cover with remaining rolled-out pastry and bake 45 minutes in a 350F oven.
Makes one 9-inch pie.

I have dried apples from the ugly-but-tart bagsfuls Hazel brought me last year, and from the bland-but-pretty red delicious we picked from her tree. They're still all dried and stashed away and I really should do something with them, like make a dried apple pie if I can find an unobjectionable recipe.
I shall go look!
