We're both getting to the age where our cousins are starting to die off, and he still has aunts and uncles left. Mom will be 90 this year. I figured I'd better make a dress that's suitable for funerals and such. I'm not much of a seamstress, so it has to be a simple pattern

Michelle Leggott, the poet I am studying with, is partially blind, so I've taken to wearing my panama hat every day, so that I don't have to introduce myself, as she knows exactly as I am when she sees big yellow blur on head. The responses I've been getting about it - somewhat flattering. Happy stew.

on my friends page here, its just great - its got stews "sequined dress of bad habits" right there below your dress. maybe its a hint- you need a secret row of sequins somewhere there on your funerary gown. for the party aspect. i forget how irish you are.

Maybe something nearly straight up and down with a little 3-inch ruffle at the hem, but no more than that.
