"Lily is your roommate, right? What does she look like?" Ilia had pushed her own information back in favor of their immediate course of action. They had to find her, and either disable her if she were posted on attack or save her from the institute's torture. Ilia wasn't sure what the institute's plans were tonight. Last night's mission had thrown her off her game.
She wanted to make up for last night. There was still a little guilt that hung over her, but she could manage to push it away easier if they did something to physically help a fellow patient. And she worried about her standing in Rose's eyes, too. The girl had witnessed her murder a man without holding back. Even if it was for both their sakes, it was hard to bear thinking about what that kind of thing could do to a young girl's psyche.
"She's blonde. My height, and about my age." Lily looked a lot like a younger Ilia. Same heart-shaped face, same open, wide eyes, though Lily's were blue.
What else was important? Lily had implied more than she'd said, though the part about the collars hadn't needed a Seer to decipher.
"She didn't know how to pet a cat. I think she knows more about hurting things than she wants to." Ilia did, too. The parallels were stacked like a cord of wood resting at the entrance of a forest. Easy pickings. The truth would take venturing into the depths of the human psyche, but time was not offering them the opportunity.

Rose ran out into the main hall.
