Phone call from my landlady: "...did you lose a cat?" I'm exceedingly glad I happened to be staring at both of mine when she asked that, as opposed to being nowhere near my apartment at the time.

Just got back from a whirlwind tour of the Bay Area, with special bonus Conference-in-Arizona. The list of shiny places is sufficiently long that I need to hunt down my lists - but I will post places and reviews, I promise! also, frantic wide-eyed kitties waiting just inside the front door, who don't want to get more than about three steps away from you, are adorably cute, if somewhat inconvenient.

lessons learned and/or recalled this evening:

• torisen is still the adventurous kitty. however, that does not make him less capable of freaking out.
  
• tori is quite familiar with which house is his, and his instinct is to find his house when things are scary.
  
• kindrie's reaction to being terrified is to hide and cry.

my dislike for capital letters has been renewed -- and in particular, the scourge of small-caps. (although this certainly is the result of trying to lock up an invitation pretending to use small-caps through a combination of 10- and 14-point type. ugh.) i think i'm going to sit and enjoy the aesthetics of lower-case letters for a while...

pending a clean bill of health from my mechanic, anyway. mmm, shiny...
