"Police fearing deadly confrontations with jittery residents enforced a new order that bars homeowners from owning guns"

So.... the constitution only counts when things are going well?

I guess the govt types are following after the looters in attitude- only follow the law when you have to.

I wonder how they'll know who has guns to confiscate. Perhaps they'll use the convenient list they made when trusting citizens registered their weapons. They promised not to do that, but they also promised to protect the property and citizenry of their jurisdiction, so...

I just read that the local authorities have contracted Blackwater mercenaries (feared professional killers, all) to maintain order. It appears that certain private citizens get extra constitutional rights to balance things out.

Sooooo, wait, private corporations can hire armed goons to protect their interests, but measly private citizens can't own a firearm to protect themselves? What if a group of private citizens form an LLC to protect their conglomerated interests? They could claim the application was on file downtown in New Orleans when the flood happened.

I seem to remember all ready paying for armed security once- they were called cops. A bad investment for the people of NOLA, it would appear.
