A flawed homage to Grey Gardens. I could totally buy Diller as Big Edie, but they didn't really have a Little Edie. At least until Billy DeWolfe came onboard mid-season.

Ah but this was several years before the film. The Beales weren't discovered until after the raccoons began eating the house.

Apparently Diller was a frequent weekend guest of theirs in the early 60's, before their later public notoriety, which probably inspired her to do the teevee show.
