Well, among other animals the practice of killing young is not uncommon if there isn't enough food or other resources to support the extra bodies, of course most people don't feel that has any relation to the way we should think or act, but I'm a little odd.
More specifically to humans it is natural because it is something our body does for us, if it doesn't think we are ready for it or it detects something wrong with the fertalised egg, it will abort it naturally and a lot of the time before the person even new they were pregnant. I can't remember the exact figures and they would have been updated and made more accurate, but last I read something like 85% of fertalised eggs are aborted naturally by the body before the first trimester.
That is essentially our body saying it isn't ready to support a child growing inside it. As far as I'm concerned abortion is just us deciding that while our body may be ready to bear the child, we do not believe that we are capable of doing so, for any reason from the emotional to the financial.
I used to answer that question with an emphatic 'no.' But I don't think anyone can really say until they are in that situation. I hope it's not something you're having to consider right now :|
I'd like to think I wouldn't abort, but I've been thinking about it lately.. If I fell preggers now, I think the best thing I could do is abort. It's selfish I know, it's an easy way out. I just wouldn't be able to give the child a good start like this.
If I fell pregnant now I would, simple because I want to finish uni, I want to be stable enough to give the child a good life, I want to be married and i'm selfish. I can hardly look after myself let alone a baby.
