Darkman
What are you talking about?! All movies should have bloody head shots! ALL. And of course it feels a bit by-the-numbers. Raimi wanted The Shadow (God I would have loved to see his Shadow) but no, they wouldn't let him. So he pulled Darkman out of his ass. Of course it is quite good for being pulled out of an ass. And how about that County Fair scene? I sure as hell love that scene. "Take the fucking elephant!" Heh heh.

The Office
Funny. I've been reading America (the book), as have you. I just watched the entire The Office series (FINALLY!), and you just watched Series One. Coincidence? Yes, it is one of the finest achievements of the small screen. I feel like I know these characters better than pretty much any other ficticious character (and I've seen lots of Pee-Wee Herman).

Baadasssss!
Fine film. Nice to see Detroit getting some of the limelight.

Ray
I really wish it was a "better" film, so I'd feel compelled to watch it.

"Ray Charles was born a poor black child."

You sure you aren't talking about Navin R. Johnson?

My favorite part of the County Fair scene is when Peyton`s face starts to melt away, and he realizes it. The look on Liam Neeson`s face is priceless, half comedy, half tragedy.

You should check out `I`m Alan Partridge.` It takes a bit to get into it because it assumes you are British and know the character, but it`s still pretty funny. No Office, though.

I was making an off handed reference to Navin R. Johnson that I hoped somebody would get. I bow to you, sir.

Thanks for the heads-up on Alan Partridge. I've always have been a fan of Steve Coogan (in the very limited amount of stuff I've seen him in) and never even heard of this show. I can't recall ever seeing it on BBC America, but luckily for I, I have a Region Free dvd player so I might start hunting up some Brit dvds of this show. And speaking of Region 2 dvds, I've been meaning to buy the complete series of Spaced. Have you seen that show at all? It's from the creative team of Shaun of the Dead, and a lot of actors are in both movie and tv show. I've read it makes at least once reference to Star Wars in every episode, so it's gotta be good.

If it`s a sketch comedy show, then I`ve heard about it from my Scottish roommate. He was looking at the Shaun of the Dead DVD and talking about how funny the two guys on the front were. He said there was something about a guy playing paintball who gets hit with yellow paint and dies, yellow paint coming out of his mouth. It sounded funny.
