Made the payment for attorneys' fees for Roger and myself today. We are scheduled to sign the petitions on Feb 13, and then everything will be filed. After that, it's wait and see. -
Bankruptcy
We finally went to the attorney's office today to inquire about filing for bankruptcy. Now that Roger's unemployment compensation is over, we can't pay all of the bills. After discussing the options, we both decided to file. Unfortunately since we're not legally married, we can't file together. Since Roger has no income, he'll file a chapter 7 ( Read more... ) -
Time out
I've got 45 minutes left here at work and then I'm off for a week. Off to the store tonight to get some groceries, then the card store for cards to put my gift cards in. Tonight I need to wrap three presents for my grandson Mikey, and then I'm going to bake some apple pies for tomorrow and Sunday. Tomorrow we go to Dave's for his 40th birthday ( Read more... ) -
piano
I went to my first group piano class on Wednesday. The good news is that there are only 3 people in the class. The bad news is how really rusty I am. I hope that something comes back soon, but I was really embarassed by my skill level . On the whole, though, I had a good time and I think this will be a good incentive for me to keep practicing. -
Chorus season 24
Had our first rehearsal of the 24th season on Sunday. We got a whopping 14 new members; must be a record. The bass section got three new low basses, which we really need. there are only three of us at present; the rest of the basses are upper. I've also been made the bass section co-leader. Job Prospects
Roger's job prospects are looking up. He's in the running for a job with the IRS as a customer service rep. He applied (actually me) in June and took the on line test in August. He scored in the Superior qualified group which puts him at the top of the list. We got an email from the iRS last Friday with a bunch of forms to be filled out and ( Read more... ) -
new apartment?
Looks like Dwight's trip to the apartment complex may have brought some positive results. there are only 35 people on the waiting list, and the manager says that when she calls, very often the people are not ready to move. She said that she may have to call 10 people to find one who is set. That's good, because he's ready to go. He's planning ( Read more... ) -
financial woes
Roger spent the day at his brother Dwight's house working on financial matters. I finally got to speak to the housing manager for the assisted living community where he wanted to go. She was pretty short with me and said that the wait is 7 years and I should call her back in 5. He doesn't meet the low income category, and in any event, that ( Read more... )
