Finally finished the lace afghan that I'm making for my ex-wife's 65th birthday. I hope she likes it. It took me several months to complete it. -

I'm glad that I'm leaving work at 5:30 today. We're having an author visit tonight; Joe Hill, son of Stephen King, will be flying in to do a reading, talk about his writing, and sell some books. Trouble never ends......
for Roger's family. Last night his nephew was in a serious car accident with all three of his children. They had to be lifeflighted to two different hospitals. We don't have a lot of info yet, but I know that Jeremy ( his nephew) had surgery last night to repair his diaphragm which had been pushed up into his chest cavity. Had our second rehearsal for ExtrABBAganza. Things are going remarkably well. Our new rehearsal space is quite nice, and the security seems a lot better than our last place. Roger came to work with me today so that he could take an excel class that we're offering here at the library. It felt unusual for both of us to come in through the staff entrance, but I didn't see any reason for him to walk around the building to the public door. the library's ben busy today; everyone is looking for tax forms now that the IRS ( Read more... ) -
Family History
Been working on some genealogy lately. I found out yesterday that Roger is a first cousin 9 times removed to George Washington. When I told him, he said it was silly, but I think that it's fascinating. It doesn't really mean anything, but it's kind of nice to know that you have a personal connection to a historical figure. Sad day
We've made some progress. Roger spent the day with his brother yesterday. It was very difficult for him. They finally decided that Terri would be cremated and there would be a small memorial at a rented hall before the burial service at the cemetery.
