It had certainly been some time since Miki had even thought to ask someone out for drinks, and now that it was in the process of occurring she was rather tickled by the notion. The halls between the lounge and he bar she was most familiar with were well populated, a testament to the drawing power of the Nexus

Basch habitually goes to open the door himself, but she beats him there. He looks at her for a brief moment, not accustomed to being the one afforded chivalry, and nods with a smile before continuing in beside her.
"Dalmasca, a city-state within the continent of Ivalice." He says, and takes a seat at the bar. "It's quite small, but... it boasts proud countrymen.
And yourself?"

“Landlocked then?” Such an odd notion to one who’d spent most of her life in a chain of islands.
With a small hop she was seated on the barstool, spinning just a bit before halting the motion, “I’m from the El Nido islands, can’t say I really call any of them home right now, but the Zelbess is home enough.”

He nods, then turns to the bartender and orders a mug of whatever's on tap. He's not picky.
"Very much so -- and bedfellows with very ambitious and ruthless neighbors." He leans an elbow on the bar.
"...I... couldn't imagine living on an island, to be honest." He laughs a little. "Plains and deserts are where my people are most at home. Is the Zelbess a vessel?"

Having had enough of the chill of the airconditioning, she places an order for mulled wine. There being much to be said for a drink that would warm one in multiple ways.
Frowning lightly at the mention of ambitious neighbors, she nods. "I'm right familiar with how that can go." It was a fervent hope of hers that the current cool down with Porre would hold for a time.
She grins, nudging a few stray hairs of her should, "I couldn't really see living in a desert myself. Oh yes, the Zelbess is one of the finer ships out there.” Never mind that it was a rather notorious pirate ship, and not the entertainment vessel she’d been familiar with up until a year ago.

It's quite possible he has... no idea what he's in for. Very possible.
He stretches his neck; the stools are starting to bother his back, as well, though it's probably him being a creaking relic rather than the actual chair. Though he'd love to spend the evening here, just talking, there are no doubt duties and responsibilities piling up at home with every word he says. He affords Miki with a pleasant expression and nods.
"I hope we were well-met tonight, Miki. I've enjoyed myself greatly."

It would seem that back in the islands of El Nido, it was so late it had become early. This caused her brow to twitch slightly. Hopefully there wouldn’t be anything pressing that came up during the morning. That, or someone had better have strong coffee going..
“It would seem that I ought be bringing it to a close tho’, seems I’ve let time get away from me.” Not that she minded in the least, but there it was.

"As have I, it seems," he says, after eyeing the clock over the bar. To say he minded would be a blatant lie, however. He struggles to -- and barely -- keeps a sudden yawn under wraps; such was rude, rude behavior, especially if you wanted her to believe you've enjoyed yourself. Such were the effects of the boozahol, he suspected.
After laying two more notes on the bar for the tender's gratuity, Basch turns back to Miki.
"I would see you home, if it pleases you." To her... portal!

“I think I should quite like that.” One last glance about to make sure that nothing was going to be left behind, and she was set.
“Shall we then?”
