Fed, watered and safe in Alexandria

Just had a long chat with Parent and she has had an awful experience, but is sounding ok. They are at the red cross centre in Alex and are being billeted in the town until it's safe to drive down. That may take some time as the whole area is afire.

I'm much relieved, and am considering getting some sleep.

I am much relieved for you too. Very glad to hear she is OK. The news reports look terrible.
PS. Which shop was it? Just wondering if it was one of the ones mum and I frequented. I had no idea your mum was up that way.

She shared ownership of the old style lollyshop in the main street. Her business partner lived in the house at the back of the shop and left last night before it got too bad. I'm glad she did it wouldn't have offered any shelter, and would have been impossible to protect.

It's funny, she took the last 2 days takings with her, and now it's all the cash any of them have access to as they have no bags, cards etc.
