Concerning me this week....Madonna

Jul 24, 2008 09:17

Of course, upon my return I should really catch up with the one thing that I know that is concerning us all this week, and that is poor old (50 in a few weeks) Madonna. She's had a rough time of it with the Alex Rodriguez accusations, which she vehemently denies only to be followed by her brother Christopher's book, which I have to say has one of ( Read more... )

Thank God you're back on LJ - where else would I get my Very Important Madonna News? Plus, I was on the verge of doing something productive there, and you saved me.

Mind you, I feel compelled to point out you have a small typo (floors/flaws).

Unless Madge is indeed a department store.

Ah well spotted sheldrake, I popped that in there just to keep you on your toes. I think Madge would have floors also, I think she has many department store qualities, First floor Virgin, Second Floor Whore...etc. etc.....

I REALLY like that picture of her in the kitchen. What an encouraging thing to know that she can look like anyone's aunty or sister!

I know, I love it. She looks like a slightly awkward older sister, not a pointy Gaultier in sight. And the kitchen décor is so un-fabulous, I love it. If I didn't know better I would've thought Nan Golding had snapped that one!

That's her look when she's realised she put the dishwasher on, but didn't fill it first. Silly megastar. Silly.

Either that or it's her expression upon realising that Cyndi Lauper's new album wipes the floor with her shoddy effort.

And if she wants to get out of those chains in that last photo, she'd best use a hacksaw and not her own teeth. She'll do herself some dental damage. I've told her and told her. Will she listen? Will she buggery.

Not in total agreement with the Cyndi comment. They both have good and bad points and I think you're coming around to a bit of Hard Candy, don't deny it. Be nice or she won't let you into the Golden Circle (for select few) on August 23rd.

I love the fact that the dishwasher appears to have parcel tape holding it together, I can only assume this is not the Ciccone/Richie household.

She should've called the album 'Old Boiled Sweets... galactic_jack July 24 2008, 13:42:53 UTC
... That You Got Off Of Your Nan'.

I like parts of 4 songs, and you know it. The rest whiff of her chasing after Nelly Furtado. Whereas NY's own Cyndi L has got the smarts. And nary a sticky nor sweet confection troubling her vocal spoutings.

If she has parcel tape holding her Zanussi mod cons together, do you think she keeps her dogs on bits of rope and not a posh leash, like dignified folk? She rich but she tight as arseholes.

Don't you be a shovin' Madge's "golden circle" in my visage; I've seen the horrors of her shiny plumage.

Oh she's a delight old Madge. Never boring.

I'm kind of busting to read that Christopher Ciccone book. What a scurrilous old rag he turned out to be, but how I'll enjoy consuming his bitter cupcakes of evil sibling hatred.

I used to love Christopher Ciccone. Shame this has happened, money and drugs have such a pull for some people and that can really be the only reason he did it.

Having said that I have heard it's actually not that scathing, revealing she is driven and devoted to her career and a lot of it is written fondly about the early days in NYC.

I want to read...I don't want to buy, the guilt!
