My initals are SME. I think it's great that "SME" is often used as an acronym for "Subject Matter Expert". I don't know that this particular phrase was in common use when my parents picked out my name, but they sure were right!

I hate hate HATE it when people tell me "You should have..." ESPECIALLY hen it's a "professional" who's "trying" to help me. I heard it from my realtor when I was having trouble getting my mortgage package in time. "You should have used someone else. I wonder, when we tell someone(for example) "Drive carefully! Have a safe trip!" whether it makes any difference whatsoever in how they drive or conduct themselves during said trip. Or, when we hear those sentiments ourselves, whether it changes the decisions we would make about how or where or when we'll drive one iota ( Read more... )

Sometimes I feel less like a "human being" and more like a "human doing".
