I just got my NYSTCE (New York State Teacher Certification Examination) scores back last night. I scored a 280 on the Mathematics Content Specialty Test and a 291 on the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test. Passing score on both is a 220. So Ha! Take that New York money-taking test administrating people... you're not getting any more money out of this

For the last month I've been working on my master's thesis. Oh sure I worked on it before that, but there were distractions: work, prepping for my teaching examinations, making up some incomplete grades. I just found out this morning that in order to stay certified to teach for the Army next year, I have to find 2 weeks between now and September to go learn some more pieces of equipment. That's gonna be a tall order considering that I'm already spending all of April working for the Army and the whole frickin' summer doing classes for NYC Teaching ( Read more... )

Today I have the privilege to be working on my thesis not just from the NYU library study dungeon, but from one of the private rooms therein (like a semi-sound proof cubicle but with a window so people won't lock themselves in and do anything naughty). The last two nights Ashley and I have eaten chicken. Last night was chicken and rice soup (with homemade biscuits) and the Monday was chicken enchiladas.
