This is an interesting one, for me chocolatebark August 4 2010, 02:15:12 UTC
because I have no 'real-world' experience of you, and so I actually know very little about your life. I have a general idea of what I think your personality is like, and I think you're definitely open in the sense that you're easy to converse with on eljay, but there definitely is a lot I don't know about your real life when compared to your online-frenz or whatnot.

I can see that. I don't talk about my real life a lot mostly because I'm not a big fan of my job and it takes up a very large portion of my life. Most of the rest of the time I'm online.

This is one of the more interesting things in lj for me and its constantly escaped me how to 'act' online, or how to see what I project to others. I'm not sure what the online/reallife ratio is on me; only a couple of my lj frenz have met me. Something to think about.

yeah it's really odd to me that I might present two different faces. How would you keep them straight?

I thought this was a very interesting answer. I think that "easier to get closer faster" part is probably true for a lot of people, especially because we're not forcing ourselves or others to wade through the parts of our "in person" selves that we don't like (if you don't want to talk about your job online, you don't have to, but in person that would seem odd).

Thank you for answering!

That's a really good point. Online you can really choose what you want to converse about.

You don't really sugarcoat things and both online and off, I don't see the difference, which says to me you are an awesome, genuine person.

You nailed this. The university is where I also made good, long-lasting friends, and this feeling resurged on LJ. I may not see someone on here in person for years, but I always feel like the friendship is always strong.

It's good to hear from another that I don't change much between the two danithesquirrel August 4 2010, 13:03:17 UTC
