In 1988/1989 I was working in The Far East (Woolwich, East London, England!)) and I decided it was about time to buy my first CD player ... and there's that chicken&egg thing, do you buy CDs first and wait for theplayer, or a player first and then have nothing to play in it ... or do you time it so you buy both on the same day ...
... I bought CDs first ... and I left that first shop with two packages, Jethro Tull's 25 year collection and TMBG Flood (which both songs above are on) ... so for the first few weeks of having a player, Flood was on almost continuous repeat. The lyrical complexity of Minimum Wage, the angst of Triangle Man, the despair of needing a rock to wind a piece of string around ... all burned into my brain and made me the man I am today.
Thanks for the reminder ... now to try to get them out of my brain again! ;-)

Hope it wasn't one of the latter days.
