I wanted to ask some advice from guitar playing people. I need to get a pickup for my acoustic guitar (as detailed by immortalradical, the band had a practice last Friday. I was using Boydi's guitar, which was not good, and I really don't want to use it for gigging).

This is something I know nothing about, so can anyone recommend anything?

There's the first part of an excellent interview with Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars, up on TV Without Pity.

Loads of interesting details about the show, and he's sounding pretty optimistic about the chances of renewal, which is encouraging.

Am currently suffering withdrawal as there isn't a new episode until the end of March.

A few thoughts on the Mac Mini:

Yes it's shiny, yes it's desirable.

That it comes with 256MB of RAM as standard is a joke. That they're charging TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY POUNDS to upgrade it to a GB is taking the piss. For reference, 1 GB of comparable brand-name RAM from Crucial can be had for £113.99. Apple will, of course, be paying a lot ( Read more... )

Spent yesterday afternoon wandering round town with wg and immortalradical trying to find clothes for Halloween costumes. Strangely finding mens frilly shirts in Birmingham is quite difficult.

First, a half-hour documentary about Steve Earle, whose records I've never heard before, but immortalradical seems to be a fan. It was called Pop & Politics, and focused heavily on his left-wing views - "Capitalism's fine as an economic system, it just makes a lousy religion." Nice.
