It's about time people got hit with the clue bus.

So we all knew Michael getting on Twitter was going to be insanity. For me personally, it has been rather amazing. But I know he's been getting a lot of crap for his brutal honesty and his penchant for language (neither of which has surprised me or should surprise ANYONE who is a fan of his. I hate to use the 'true fan' statement because it sounds ( Read more... )

It totally was! I had to read over it three times to pick up on the variety of curse words he used in it!

Couldn't agree more. So refreshing to have someone someone so honest on twitter. I've never followed someone who responds and interacts with his fans so much. If people not happy with what he says, then all they need to do is click that unfollow button. Very simple really.

Yep. It is simple as that. He's a genuine guy who knows what he's doing. He gets major props for the way he's taken over Twitter since coming into it a month ago.

I do understand how it can be a little bit of a shock when you realize an actor is just that, an actor. Especially with someone like Michael Shanks. SG-1 started at a time when your favorite celebrities weren't really available to you at the press of a button. The internet wasn't yet was it is now. I mean, towards the end of the show it was, but the late 90s didn't have Facebook and Twitter. You see a person for 10 years and it's hard to think, "No, that isn't them." BUT, people shouldn't be OFFENDED when the actor isn't the character he portrayed. It isn't difficult to stay away if you are offended by profanity.

Honestly, if people have been fans for this long and are involved with Twitter, they should most likely be 'up to date' on how the actors in SG behave. There are con vids and interviews galore out there that show what kind of people these actors are.

And also, they never should think the CHARACTER and the ACTOR are ever the same person. Because one is real and one is fictional. Just because you 'know' a character does NOT mean you're gonna know an actor.
