I am writing with deep concern for our democratic process. The push for California Proposition 8 has definitely brought out the worst of our fellow Californian citizens. I applaud you for you position on equality for all.

They can, but the Mormon Church has not shown any division now between their religious activities and their political activities. I understand that possibility, but this is clear that the LDS Church is carrying these activities out as the LDS Church and not as a political lobbying arm that a 501c4 sets up. I stated as such in my letter. They are certainly using the assets of the LDS Church, including BYU, the church houses, their satellite system, etc., to impose their beliefs on others.

Then we should lobby to change that law to have caps in order to even the playing field as the Mormon Church processes billions of dollars.
