3 down, 2 to go

I heard the song "Running on Empty" this morning and I thought of you, just pounding the street, the cold air forgotten in the silent connection between you and the earth. Movement secondary, all Zen and stuff.

When I'm out with friends we're distracting ourselves with chatting as we go, but if I'm on my own, just grooving with the tunes, it feels somewhat zen-like :-)

I have been giving a lot of thought to what in me has changed that I do - and continue to do - this, but that's a separate post. I will say that having friends to go with makes it much easier to be motivated.

I haven't seen any of the Oscar nominated movies so far, except Crash. I have a few nights free this week, so maybe I'll be able to. I'm dreading Brokeback mountain, because it seems so 10-years-ago-risqué-but-the-Oscars-are-behind-schedule, so it's dealing with a past sensitive topic and will likely win. But *shrug* I really want to be prepared, so that if I'm able to see some of the Oscar awards, at least I can be legitimately incensed.
